The phrase 'live as a woman's is so regressive. How does anyone 'live as a woman'? Does it mean dresses and make up? Are cup cakes involved? Stilettos essential? How does a man 'live as a woman' other than by adopting oppressive, sexist stereotypes? The whole idea is deeply, deeply sexist.

They aren't reversible. I don't know how much clearer I can make this.

You do not understand. In precocious puberty they stop children as young as 7 going through puberty at the wrong time. They are not reversible & these children then go through puberty at the right time. They should not be used to stop healthy children going through puberty at the right time.

The article is talking about children. How are you going to tell who will resolve & who will carry on with a trans identity? All the research say you can't. That is the issue.

But the main problem with open/female is it's regressive framing reinstating sport/women's sport, instead of the equality of female/male which female athletes fought so hard to achieve.

Oh good! Yes BT did a good job. Although I think it a mistake to go open/female as open is clearly a euphemism for male, a linguistic accomodation not extended to the female category for transmen (open/open) who compete in female category without T for a competitive career.

And yes, it should include all women in the league etc. Whenever governing body surveys are done, women say no. There is also the case of litigation & insurance in the case of serious injury. Given cricket is a sex affected sport. Governing bodies may be liable.

Agree that women's views have been quite deliberately silenced. I've done & been asked to do several anonymous surveys of female athletes & the fear involved in them saying they don't want transwomen in women's sport is overwhelming. So any such consultation would need to be completely anonymous.

It's not that I don't feel terrible for Lilly. I imagine that is hard on him. He was exploited.
But my empathy extends to girls that are manipulated & many times never considered.

Besides....its not about feelings. IT'S ABOUT JUSTICE, TRUTH & LAW.
