It feels like this Arsenal team are epitomising the conundrum of “would you rather watch good football and enjoy every match, or suffer and win everything?”

new rule: if your standard has a spec, i should be able to give it to any coding agent, with nothing else, and it should perfectly implement the spec in any major language

“Perk” doesn’t make grammatical sense there

Do you mean “pert”?

Igor Tudor went into Spurs as a firefighter, but they weren’t on fire, they were drowning. He sprayed his hose everywhere and it just made everything worse

I wonder if Claude is less pessimistic if you aren’t on a subscription? It’s pessimism could be a way on Anthropic saving money

I just got stung by this. `@` isn't filename completion. It is file inclusion. If you `@` complete the name of a 5GB file, but tell Claude not to read the file because it's too big, it crashes Claude because it tries to put the entire file in the context.

“Vibecoding” was intended as a slur, but as so often happens, people took it and used it about themselves.

Just because you hate and insult someone, doesn’t mean they are wrong

I was really tempted to block you in response to that

Ooh. I’ve got it. And he also performed at Wembley, but I can’t find any evidence that he also played football there

I’m guessing Pat Nevin. But I don’t know for sure what bands he played in. He must have played there though

The Red Dwarf audiobooks are wonderful. Chris Barrie does an amazing job of reading them and does almost perfect impression of every member of the cast

I wish that Spotify or similar would let people make radio shows, where they play music and talk in between. Since you've paid to access the music, it would be nice to have people share and curate, but with rambling humanity in the chat, not just playlists. This is the narrowcasting of my dreams.

Asking this question publicly is hugely powerful. A problem with most corporate systems is getting basic feedback into the development team. Developers (particularly tool devs) have a strong tendency to be receptive to these inputs, but layers of insulation get put between them and users.

I speculate that Claude Code is still written in some sort of JS framework like React, and Anthropic are somehow managing to turn that into a CLI tool

When you try to complete, Claude Code used to cause iTerm2 to suggest JS functions and variables, but now the screen just flashes. Both completely break completion, which means Claude accounts for 80% of all my copy and pasting.

iTerm2 (on MacOS) has its own application level completion that suggests matches from output across all of your terminal sessions (example attached). It's amazingly useful and the main reason I use iTerm2. Claude Code is the only thing I've seen that manages to break it.

Thanks!, I'm annoyed with myself that I didn't think of doing this. In my defence, I've been using Claude Code (on and off) since it didn't know about Claude Code, and I got out of the habit of asking it how to fix itself.

The TUI is amazingly annoying. Breaks completion in iTerm2. Overloads Ctrl-b so you can’t go back a character. Doesn’t have any completion for filenames (and breaks other types of completion). I wish I didn’t have to use it but it’s the only choice with a subscription

It’s amazing how badly designed such everyday items can be. Doors with handles that seem custom designed to catch pockets on coats or snag wired headphones

The three button mouse was definitely superior to the two button mouse. And it had proper names for the buttons: select, menu, adjust. Rather than the idiotic left-click and right-click
