Do we ever really get over generational trauma?

It's why I opted for a charter school for my daughter because the demographics were majority Black and Hispanic and she would not have gotten that at her home school. They learned about and celebrated different cultures. As I've mentioned before, I only got the black experience at home and church.

My mom was a single parent and worked 2 jobs after her and my stepdad divorced. I was lucky that academics came easy for me. I always said that if I had a child, I would try for history not to repeat itself. I became a single mom, but my mother was there for my daughter. We both miss her so much 💔.

So she took part in their after school program. I worked with her at home. She graduated high school with a 4.2 and is on the Dean's List at college. It takes that village.

I know some people knock Charter schools, but my daughter attended one from K-8. It provided her with a diverse cultural experience. There was educational supports after school and on Saturdays to help students with learning deficits. She struggled with reading,

Every time I see someone having to use this to set some ignorant ass straight, I get HEATED! A conflict she had no control over managing was more important than gaining this for us. Racism, misogyny and persecuting people they hate was more important. The couch was more important. UGH!!!

We are being forced to determine what harm reduction in voting really looks like. How do you in good conscience vote for a candidate cozying up to white supremacists?
