Green iridescent bug on yellow flowers

Green iridescent bug on yellow flowers

Prayer walking - exploring a different beach - managed to jump over the boggy sand streams mostly πŸ˜… & found some beautiful bugs. The crunch of shells & seaweed on the shoreline & the unfamiliar wildlife were fun, but, I prefer our trusted spot & will head back there next time πŸ™πŸΎ

Blessed are those who have been turned away from God due to the words & actions of others; the gates of heaven stand open for them to enter in as those who are welcomed first.

Blessed are those who find nothing but trouble in this world, their inheritance is grace & rest.

Blessed are those who have overcome bitterness for this is a witness to salvation.

Blessed are those who have been classified, categorised, racialised - wrongly judged - for theirs is the future peace & opportunity.

Blessed are those who have been crushed by deceitful people for they will be vindicated.

Blessed are those whose childhood was stolen; soon they will be free to delight in the sunshine.

Blessed are those who are broken by sorrow for they will be restored by the hand of God.

A mixture of stones, a shell, and a feather.

Spiritual practice - writing a mixture of blessings:

Blessed are the abused for they will find days of restoration and true justice.

Blessed are those with no-one to trust for, this very hour, they are in the company of angels & saints.

Rocks on a beach - one has a flat surface that is very orange and yellow.

I found this rock-full-of-sunshine on a prayer walk and I now see the appeal of geology.

May there be sparks of light in our lives even on the greyest days.

Please note - the technical name of the rock is unknown to me - the name given is a nickname I made up 😁

Hi Everyone, Sheltered is a church service (at St Mary’s in the building and online) and there is so much to share that I wanted to offer all the art, prayers, reflections, and questions in a space for all to access. We are back in the building and on zoom (link below) on 12th Jan. In the meantime, here are last week’s resources 🀩

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 2 NRSV
‭‭

β€”β€”β€”β€”

Questions for Reflection:

β€’Do you know what spiritual gifts you have?

β€’How can you take up your crown?

β€’Are you willing to let God help you?

β€”β€”β€”

Zoom for 6pm UK 12th January 2025:

Post-Christmas Day Prayer
for St Mary Stoke from Revd. Sophie

The carols have been sung
The gifts have been given
Food has been shared
and, our minds may have already
moved to the tidying away…

But, before the hurry of the new year sweeps us up, let us:

Give a moment of thanks.

Give a moment of blessing.

Hold on to the sense of wonder that was stirred.

Hold on to the relief of hope that has been held.

Remembering that God embraces you now - all that you are and all that you will ever be.

Declare again your love in return.

Declare again your willingness to love well those people God puts on your path [those who will journey with you a while and those who may be with you for a lifetime].

With open hearts, let us receive Christ this Christmas.

Amen.

I painted this as a representation of single intent. She seems drained but determined. I have not fully reflected on it but, it seems to be a relevant time to share.

Blessings on those who know their calling & follow it diligently.

Blessings on those who call for righteousness.

A prayer for the weary:

God of grace, lead us through. Let our weariness be held in the greater image of restoration of all that fades & dies. Sing songs of joy & promise over Your beloved; remind us to hold on to hope, to resist evil, & to be rooted in love, we pray. Amen. πŸ™πŸΎ
