Youโre 74% of the industry, what people assume a dev looks like & youโre missing the point of why the hashtag was created by @drjclau.bsky.social

I'm not at GDC because thank you very much, I'm not going to support informa's money making machine, nor will I take the risk of getting stuck in ICE detention because of my views against Zionism and American colonialism.
A photograph of Nazih Fares leaning against a pale yellow wall next to a white louvered shutter. They are wearing a dark olive wide-brimmed hat with a small decorative feather, round wire-rimmed glasses, and a red and grey plaid button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up. They have dark blue trousers secured with a dark woven belt and a smartwatch on their left wrist. Their right hand is resting in their pocket.
The yearly trend created by @drjclau.bsky.social is back, and this is #WhatAGameDevLooksLike!
Iโm Nazih, been in the industry for 17+ years, and worked in all sorts of verticals. You will probably know me for my advocacy on equitable industry practices, game crediting and inclusive development

โ ๏ธ PSA to trans folks going to GDC by plane โ ๏ธ
SFO doesnโt have TSA. It has private contractors called CAS (Covenant Aviation Security)
Their track record with trans folks is not good. Be careful
If they give you trouble, stand your ground
No matter what, DO NOT let them take you to a private room
We're doing #WhatAGameDevLooksLike again? I'm Liz, I was a journo but I eventually hopped the fence into localisation and narrative. Sometimes I do script doctoring, too! No GDC for me this year (or probably ever) because I love remote work too much and I'm about to have a whole baby.
A selfie of me in a bathroom mirror. I have rainbow hair which reaches halfway down my chest, and am wearing a dress with various space patterns on it - planets, rockets etc.
Hello #WhatAGameDevLooksLike!
I'm Jonathan (they/them). I'm currently working as a producer at an art outsource studio where I've been working on [redacted], previously I worked at Team17 on... So many titles, including Overcooked! 2, Monster Sanctuary, Killer Frequency, and Yoku's Island Express.
You know, the best part of GDC for me were hanging out in the park with various meet ups happening and then the parties.
Makes me wonder if I could just organize that in London? Victoria Park maybe?
Perhaps a pub in the evening.
