We conceptualise leadership as #relational and #collective, emphasising #reflexivity, #co-production, and #social #learning.
Drawing on examples from academia and mutual-aid networks, we highlight co-leadership practices that builds #collective #capacity rather than concentrating power.
Based on a two-year collaborative inquiry, we-a group of stubbornly optimistic early career #transdisciplinary researchers, argue that dominant leadership models β rooted in charisma, hierarchy, and expertise β are ill-suited for crises entwined with #justice, #democracy, and #sustainability.
As #authoritarian #leadership make a global comeback, what hope is there in pursuing #climate #action? Where can be begin to look for #inspiration?

Noura Wahby and I are collecting experiences from diverse contexts that will be woven together to re-construct desert imaginaries and socioecological energy transitions. The panel will lay the foundation of a collective article in the Journal of Political Ecology.
Deserts, perceived as "empty" spaces, become prime locations for large-scale solar and wind projects, raising critical questions about water use, land governance, indigenous and more-than-human rights. This panel examines the energy-water nexus in energy transition projects across desert regions.
Call for contributions for the @pollenetwork.bsky.social Conference 2026 in Barcelona #pollen20206

A lot has been said about #Ladakh and Ladakhis in the last few days. For those who know the region and it's people understand the demand for autonomy. For others, @ashishkothari.bsky.social and I provide a glimpse of how Ladakh's demand for autonomy is tightly linked to its ecology and energy future
Great reporting!
Do have a look and and if you would like to, do try playing these games. The game material is #openaccess : zenodo.org/records/1489...
Through role-playing, we challenge human-centered planning, make the presence of more-than-human voices audible and visible and finally, hope to leave our players with #creativity and #courage to question established planning norms.
Should other-than-human species be the subjects of #justice?
If yes, then how do we make it happen?
We explore this challenge through #multispecies #roleplaying games tested on four urban planning scenarios: www.nature.com/articles/s42...
We will discuss:
β‘ How green energy projects reproduce extractive logics
π The geopolitical dynamics shaping these frontiers
π‘οΈ The resistance of communities on the ground and their pluriversal approaches

Join us on June 19th for a vital conversation on the Geopolitics of Green Colonialism. Hosted by the Global Tapestry of Alternatives, we explore how the energy transition is impacting so-called βcold regionsβ like the Arctic and Ladakh (India) β turning them into emerging green sacrifice zones.
