@ttipdavid

Increasingly troubled that the line between apathy and complicity is getting very thin. NI/UK/ROI I will eventually launch this website when it no longer feels inconsequential in the grand scheme of things www.thistimeitspersonnel.co.uk

Spent Saturday researching legal/regulatory reports, social engineering/astroturfing, deaths of dispair, finance sector facilitation, and even a Coroner report.

"Bath: meet toaster" level stuff.

Then, magic:

It's easy to intimidate vulnerable groups and minorities with a group of armed thugs and zero resources.

It's not so easy to target Big Law, who arent financially precarious, and are, in fact, stacked with a much higher calibre of legal talent that that which presently occupies the DoJ.

Almost 50 years of neoliberal economic policy, regardless of the party in No 10.

But let's frame the article as a mystery, and instead of stating the obvious, just infer it with ambiguous references to the Swedish social care model.

Editorial decision, or lack of conviction?

When The New Statesman is taking aim at Teachers Unions, we are truly in the end times.

I look forward to the pro-child labour editorial next week, because God knows those chimneys just aren't going to sweep themselves.....

"Several US states have taken legal action against this approach, arguing that prediction markets on sports are just gambling in disguise."

Websites taking inordinate amounts of "trades" on sports predictions have to be taken to court to prove they are not a gambling firm.

We live in a satire.

With DUAA starting to roll out, a random ex peaking your Insta profile from the other side of the country is the least of our worries in how liberally all kinds of historic personal data - including provided by 3rd parties, is arbitrarily being used in "decisions of significant impact" as per ICO

It baffles me that this is not called out more often as RW fearmongering, and wealth tax as an impractical LW solution - Billionaires aren't handed a P60 every April: it's company profits, then assets, land, stocks, equity appreciation.

Then it's all funnelled to the Cayman Islands, allegedly ๐Ÿค

"The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us; but he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. His attack is psychological, Damien. And powerful."

It would be very helpful if they could devise some type of cloud-hosted inference model that doesn't require the end-user to be extorted into purchasing a local GPU ๐Ÿ˜ซ

Cool - when can we get to copyright INFRINGEMENT, as that legal status intuitively seems much more relevant....

Reddit had been simping all over them since Friday, despite their entire position being "we have no issues with the DoD murdering a whole bunch of people via our software, we just wanted to have a sliver of deniability that we, as an "ethical" company, aren't directly responsible for doing it"

Did he follow up by asking whom that $230m contract for the Noem advertising campaign was awarded to?

They were listed as "The Strategy Group", and secured the tender due to their incredible track record of successful marketing campaigns, in their illustrious SEVEN DAY history.....

I'm not even from the US, but who could read that and NOT think "you voted for a man convicted of 30+ felonies, attempted an insurrection, and is heavily associated with the world's most infamous ever child sex trafficker rather than a woman of colour - Leopards + faces is definitely in play"

Lol, weren't we all told that OpenAI had debugged the em-dash spam outputs?

I can't believe they would mislead their consumer base about their latest model's capabilities.....

Hi @taylorlorenz.bsky.social

just caught your UK YT upload - the above started from your YouTube vid in Jan.

If you've read Eightfold's response to the Kistler lawsuit, just go to the 47min mark from their own 2020 video below.

If you're concerned about data sold off to big tech, I'd look much closer to home.....

These types of people will thinly veil their transphobia, racism, sexism, homophobia, all kinds of bigotry, but they will always bury or dogwhistle the one thing they find truly contemptable:

Uppity, educated peasants who aren't afraid to call them out on their entitlement and lack of morality.

Apologies, I didn't mean that to come off as flippant as it did on reread.

It's just infuriating watching these grifters continue to swindle trillions of investment on the promise of AGI, something they know is LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE via the limitations of how transformer model architecture works.

When the leader of the Earth's current longest running historical instigators and financiers of regime change over the last 1,500 years is the most reasonable person in the room, I think we're in a lot of trouble folks....

It's a large language model, not skynet.

It is like giving Ask Jeeves credit for the capture of Baghdad.

What is it with this Party and making jokes about killing people as some sort of weird flex?

Your Administration killed a man, an evil man, at the expense of hundreds of civilians, including children, and several of your own troops, as you sat in your mansion.

It's not funny. You're a ghoul.

01.03.2026 16:29 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 1 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Urrgh, last post, sorry to spam - that IS the use case.

It's not military - it's enterprise.

Get past those infuriating firewalls, tap all that fresh data, it can all be translated later.

The real dystopian future was military ops in the name of data collection.

Banality of evil anyone?

01.03.2026 15:28 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

And to add another redundant point - if they get in and Claude Code or Codex knock up a python webcrawler with playwright to start just siphoning all that fresh data - both use Engllish in natural language programming - are they just translating all that from Farsi?

It's a mockery of tragedy

01.03.2026 15:08 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

And to add to my own point that no one will likely ever read - do you know where those giant datasets of 40 years of stolen IP are going to be limited in their application? Fucking IRAN - a country that have been under sanctions by Western countries to provide tech to for about a million years

01.03.2026 14:51 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Palantir is already the surveillance, tracking and targeting integrated software system within the US armed forces (just ask Alex Karp)

There is literally no use case that required Anthropic/OpenAI models here.

Their IPO valuations tanked recently. This was all marketing, disguised as politics.
