An excerpt from the fic itself, too long to copy, but part of it reads: Eddie picked that moment, when Steve was distracted, to push the needle through. His knuckles brushed the shell of Steve's ear, and Eddie could swear he felt something electric. Just your imagination, he told himself. Steve gave a small gasp when the needle punched through, his lips parting, and out of the corner of his eye Eddie could see him squeeze Robin's hand. “Almost done,” Eddie said in a soothing tone, leaving the needle in while he retrieved the barbell from its bag and unscrewed the ball from one end. Lining it up with the tip of the needle, he slid it through from behind in one smooth movement. It earned another tiny gasp from Steve, his eyelashes fluttering. Oh, Eddie thought. He was one of those. Eddie's favorites were his clients who enjoyed the feeling – excepting the ones who moaned. That just made it weird. “You are all good, my friend,” he said, tightening the ball down. Reluctantly pulling back, Eddie ran down the standard aftercare list, pointing out the stuff they sold because hey, extra cash coming in was never a bad thing. He handed off a printed list of instructions to Robin as Steve was still looking a little dazed. “You can chill for as long as you need,” Eddie said gently. “It's not like I've got a line.” Steve gave him that sweet little smile again and Eddie felt his heart stutter. “Thanks,” he said. “I think I'll be okay.” “All right,” Eddie said, offering him an entirely unnecessary hand up from the chair. Steve took it, letting Eddie pull him to his feet. Before Eddie could properly react, Steve stumbled forward, his hands landing on Eddie's chest. Eddie's hands found Steve's arms to steady him, but didn't step back the way he should have. The way any normal, professional person would have. “You all right, sweetheart?” he said softly, the part of his brain that was still sane screaming at him to stop that shit.

Harpy #xiao for #inktober day 6 🥰 there are multiple things I've learned from this one:
1. drawing oval shapes traditionally is pain
2. black backgrounds will kill my pens
3. unfortunately the black background is worth it.....

I actually think it's extremely good and healthy to experience art that makes you uncomfortable. discomfort is not equivalent to real, tangible harm. at the very least y'all should recognize uncomfortable art's right to exist, and to carry on with your life without making it everyone else's problem.
