I think they're far more interested in aesthetics than anything else, the messaging isn't novel, maybe that's what's comforting for the masses and therefore profitable?

To me the Fast & Furious franchise works along the same lines, it's like visual MaccyDs. Not my bag

For me they come across as a hyper-stylised visual aesthetic approach with a meandering approach to storytelling.

They very much all have a similar signature feeling, a kind of rainbow melancholy, which makes them immediately identifiable as a "Wes Anderson product" to me.
