Brilliant Brett!
Nothing more to say, so FWIW?... here's a link to a visually apt dub reggae remix version of Bowie's 'Golden Years'.

#np Imaginos II: Bombs Over Germany (Minus Zero And Counting) by Albert Bouchard
New Yorker push notification: meet the people falling in love with their AI companions
I will not. No one can make me.
Church bells ringing through the fog.
Comp title pitches = getting out of hand. I read one the other day that was like "The Old Testament meets Gravity's Rainbow mixed with War & Peace" and description was like "follows Crappy Do-Dah, who lives in a Brooklyn apartment peeing with the seat up as he slowly realizes cockroaches can talk."
megalith stones
Unlike the Iraq war, this time the US is getting instant feedback from everyone involved or watching around the world.
Serious question: is anyone else just totally sick & tired of hearing about AI? I have no interest in it; in my world it has created more problems than solutions; and it's the enemy of imagination & creativity, the things I'm most invested in. I'm also tired of being told I'm a luddite for the above
Two editions of The Outer Church that I look back on with extreme fondness. Poster art by @lysergicearwax.bsky.social and @grahamreznick.bsky.social
Those people will NEVER stop me
hahaaaaaa.
βThose Backrooms, they really are remarkable, you know, a lot of people say they go on foreverβ¦β
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind
Sounds very post-CE3K (no divorce but Garr leaves Dreyfuss) although there could be earlier examples.
Fuck YES new Fatboi Sharif π€―
Enjoying the new Venom album more than most of the black metal that crosses my desk. And YES they ARE black metal, they fucking invented it, so shut up.
One of the things I liked about Black Midi (and some of my colleagues LOATHED them) was the way they seemed to draw on music hall tradition, something they had in common with Cardiacs (and βnew waveβ artists such as Squeeze, Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello, et al). An intriguing cultural thread.
The Backrooms are a shadowy dimension of featureless rooms that defy space and time, inhabited by terrible entities.
You are not supposed to be here.
Watch the trailer for A24's liminal nightmare BACKROOMS from director Kane Parsons.
In theaters May 29.
Bruce Campbell replying to a tweet of mine remains the undisputed peak of my social media half-life. Hail to the King βπ»βπ»βπ»
