My local pub is a safe alcohol consumption site. People are lined-up when it opens. We went once, on a Monday, at 5pm. The place had about 8 “guests” who were so hammered they could barely walk. Will the gov’t be closing it down?
How so? Deaths went down once safe supply was available. We need a holistic approach to harm reduction which includes housing support, more detox beds, training so that people can get work once, and ALSO a safe supply. Plus more — I’m no expert. But having safe supply is part of the solution.
