Like you have millions of claim records a month. If 2% are frauds, and you can catch half of those it’s a lot of money. Detecting which are frauds is hard and you can’t investigate everything. Use machine learning to identify possible fraud, use humans to investigate saves time/$.
I’ve not read the article, but one of the big machine learning initiatives/gains at our insurance company has been fraud detection. I wouldn’t call it AI though
