Kills Well With Others
Strong recommendation for the hilarious second book in Deanna Rayburn's series about four sixtyish women assassins. A fun romp with lots of black humor. I enjoyed it as much as the first one, Killers of a Certain Age.
This was the final straw for me. I have been reading the Post for 61 years, since I was 8 years old. I am sickened by this.
Just finished Alison Montclair's latest book, An Excellent Thing in A Woman. I love this series of mysteries taking place in Post-WWII London. The relationship between Sparks and Bainbridge, two women who run a marriage bureau is wonderful, and both sad and funny. I recommend the entire series.
The Pale Horse by Agatha Christie
I reread The Pale Horse by Agatha Christie yesterday. I had forgotten just how good this book is. Wow.
A fun mystery about a young woman who has been hired as a detective in 1898 given her first case to find a missing maid. I enjoyed the characters and the view of Chicago at this time.
Everytime I read an E. C. R. Lorac book, I am reminded how much I like her mysteries. This one is an excellent one from 1951, written in the Golden Age style. Everybody has a motive to kill the unpleasant heir to an estate. But he dies in what seems to be an accident or was it murder?
I am enjoying rereading the reissues of Sara Woods' Anthony Maitland series. The early ones were written in the late 50s and 60s. Last night, I finished this one,the second in the series. I needed to draw a family tree to make sense of the complicated family but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Every Christmas, Jodi Taylor releases a short story in her St Mary's series. It magically appears on my Kindle Christmas morning. What a delightful tradition. This year's story was a hilarious historical romp!

I saw this brand new adaptation of one of my favorite books at Arena Stage in Washington DC yesterday. I enjoyed it! Ken Ludwig chose to emphasize the humor in his adaptation and that made for a fun experience. His Poirot rang true. Strong recommend though this world premiere run is closing soon.
