Current NIH leadership want you to think they are using rigorous, consistent & scientific processes to screen studies to align them with agency priorities.
But the process that they have put down on paper is a sham.

I think for some journals, yes - we published in JMIR research protocols and it was fee to publish but not to submit.
JMIR had a system like this where you got credits for reviews that went towards APCs, then they said they were switching to a new system…but never did. All the reviews I did for that purpose, zilch for it 😭

I think it is OUTRAGEOUS that people are LEAPING to the conclusion that some our post prominent Americans are child rapists when it is EQUALLY PLAUSIBLE that they are simply indifferent to whether other people are child rapists so long as those other people can offer them access to power.

I didn’t make any new year’s resolutions on 1/1. Now, sitting here on day six of combo strep throat and head cold, I am making two for 2026:
1) don’t work on sick days, and

I also love seeing parents with kids when I travel solo because I can smile at, wave to the kids, praise them for doing such a great job…and it really makes the parents’ day more than the kids.
Our little guy (4 in April) loves looking out the window in the plane, plus people watching in airports! And sometimes he gets to ride a train at the connecting airport! So much fun!
