Got any hoes? π
It used to be on our route to the NEC before the A14 happened
Sadly not, but it was that that prompted the thought
(Simpsons of Piccadilly, at the time if my visit a Waterstones : areyoubeingserved.fandom.com/wiki/Simpson...)
And of course there's always the old Last of the Summer Wine exclamation of surprise "what the blood and stomach pills!"
Ah. Reminds me of the great Everett.
"'Allo my leetle vol-au-vents"
One I deployed to great effect at university a few times.
As scheduled in the Rady Otto meese
Only in my case the lift didn't speak so I had to do the whole thing.
I once did the same heading to a publishing event in London. Only to discover within an hour that the lift in which I'd done it was in fact the lift that inspired the lines!
Additional.
The chair in which I sit when my wife is clothes shopping is called the Husbands Bosworth.
It's the first thing for which I look on entering such an establishment.
Told ya!
For around 30years now my wife and I have shouted βTRIFLE!β at each other at random moments. Just did a good one across the car park of Springtime Nurseries in Crews Hill π
Many moons ago travelling through Yorkshire we saw a sign to Wetwang. Since then it's become the shout when first observing your destination town/village/city on a road sign.

Looking forward to a birthday party announcement ;-)
@markelliott1.bsky.social welcome aboard Mark!
Same here. He's quite aggressive about blocking
Utterly absurd, and wrong, that this post is marked by @bsky.app as "intolerance". In reality it consists of links to serious legal analysis, from someone whose opinion you might agree or disagree with.
Accountability is such a bugger.
I'm not known for reposting union material. But I think this deserves wider circulation.
No. But maybe that the business and the home being indivisible is disadvantageous. Just 1 eg: a factory business can be given to children 8 years ahead. No IHT.
Because the home would remain a beneficial interest its forced into different treatment.
Have they heard of screen shots?
I'm not here or going to try to convince.
Here'sn4 pts:
1. price/earnings ratio is wholly ignored in calcs (and wildly differs from "conventional" businesses)
2. Valuing farmland for its worth for housing is wrong.
3. It's also a home. Factories aren't.
4. The cost of a combine v its utilisation %
Only if you have somewhere else to live - else beneficial interest will bite.
I've done both. Each for about 20 years. The last 20 years self employed - I've never regretted it or wanted to go back.
I still meet the nonsense on some engagements but just works and bill the hours to get through it.
"Oh yeah no yeah cool totally yeah cool. No worries. Yeah, no, cool. Yeah, crap, okay."
Thinking about starting a middle aged Dad onlyfans account.
For 40 quid I'll bleed a radiator.
For 50 quid I'll change a lightbulb & for 60 quid I'll think about cleaning out the shed
Never thought I'd see the day when Jeremy Clarkson became a political activist, let alone one I support.
Well colour me surprised.
