Um Betty Lou an' Penny in Jennifer's arms
@timsommer
Vaguely (and I do mean vaguely) legendary author, journalist (everything from NYTimes to Trouser Press to everything in between), musician (Hugo Largo, Glenn Branca), former A&R mega-god and failure, all-around musical polymath, buddhist, etcetera
Um Betty Lou an' Penny in Jennifer's arms
Ooooh Shippan Point, no filter
It occurs to me that if I went to (what we used to call) "an old man bar" it would now just be a "me bar."
Tell me more about this.
Thank you, Which Nhat Hanh.
An enormous honor, as always, to have a byline in the NYTimes!! I've written about the amazing roadies, soundmen and techs who continue to work well into their 60s and 70s! These Roadies Help Stars Rock βnβ Roll All Night. Theyβre in Their 70s. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/09/a...
I absolutely love this evocative still of a 1960s Greenwich Village apartment building from A COMPLETE UNKNOWN (except it's actually a picture I took off my TV of Roku City).
I thought it was Andrew Johnson...one of the things he did to obfuscate reconstruction by unnaturally bolstering the economies of the states with more investment in non-brick and mortar businesses? I mean, at least that's what I learned at Hudson University.
Oh just Betty and Penny.
Hey I got this gorgeous object in the mail, commemorating the wondrous fact that 30 years ago I helped make a record that sold over 20 million copies! So, yay. But it still won't bring back The DuMont Network.
