We had Grip sent away a couple years ago to be treated. It had some kind of mites living in there that would have eventually decayed it away, but we're glad that Grip is back- it's one of our proudest possessions!

Yes and no. It's the activist's dilemma. How do you get people who had plans to do nothing and get them to do something? The right has this very clearly solved because their voters ALWAYS turn out. The left needs to get its shit together and get organized so that our voters also turn out.

I am not a Teamster, but I am a union member with officers that the membership simply don't trust. In my case, and I suspect this is the case in many places, low voter turnout leads to dinosaurs running every group everywhere. Unions need to get their members engaged or they'll keep losing forever.

<3 Globalization was designed to prevent war, and in a lot of ways it succeeded. We haven't had a WWIII! A major downside on making every country dependent on every other country is that now, revolution & decoupling is a LOT more complicated. Just look at the Brexit disaster...
Again, you're absolutely right. We're stuck in a position where our fuel, food, etc come from a pipeline that destroys us. There's not currently a "good" supply chain ready to replace it. Pulling the plug on that poison will ALSO cause harm, so change needs to be carefully planned and executed.
