Background image is of a cloudy sky at night showing the moon somewhat obscured. Foreground is a poem:
I wish the blanket could cover my shoulders
without touching my throat,
leaving space for my toes while I'm at it
And I wish clothes didn't feel so restricting
or society too for that matter
And I wish a trip to Target
didn't feel like subjecting myself to stares
with the bright lights and noises
and something in the air with the expectation
you know what you're doing there
And even the drive on the highway
induces anxiety from being a social situation
with hundreds of people simultaneously,
but it's even worse because they forget they're people
and think they're tons of screaming metal
hurtling through space instead
And I'm just supposed to pretend
any of that is normal while still wearing clothes
and still over here, four in the morning awake
with cold shoulders and uncomfortable toes.
I wrote this poem a while back

I guess the real lesson here is just: be skeptical about articles that report on survey results. Sometimes the methodology is flawed.

To be more specific, several questions were framed as "Do you support banning XYZ", but the marriage one was framed "Do you support allowing gay marriage". I think younger survey takers got (more) confused about what they were being asked.

I noticed something interesting in a recent Yougov survey. 18-29 was the biggest group who "strongly opposed" allowing gay marriage, which blew me away at first. But they were opposite on LGBT discrimination. Now, my theory is the survey is flawed because of a reading comprehension issue.

Background showing a single bird flying towards the horizon over pink clouds in a blue sky.
Foreground is a poem:
Free like loved.
Like sleep here if you want,
Eat this if you want,
Don't worry about the cost of care,
You can choose.
You can change your mind.
You don't have to decide now.
We don't have to talk.
It's okay.
You're safe.
I won't leave.
Unless you want me to.
I love you.
You are loved.

Background image of two otters embracing. In the foreground is a poem with the text:
I love when you
use my body
as a pillow,
when you wrap up
an arm as yours,
or take a thigh -
just the whole thing -
when you know that
I want as much
of our bodies
to touch as is
acceptable
in each context.
Hell, for a while
if you'd want to,
I would merge souls.
