Food is a fundamental source of grounding for me. Local food is nutritious and connects us with community. It’s one thing I can do when I don’t know what to do.

A couple days late on my Twelfth Night post; we have nearly eaten the King Cake! Well, much went to the office and friends. I modified my great-grandmother’s Croatian povitica recipe, swapping almonds for walnuts, baking it in a big circle, and adding lemon frosting and sprinkles.
Sunday baking: tahini chocolate chip and focaccia.
Pies and snow! Tried a couple new Times pies: pumpkin tahini and citrus cranberry meringue.
The Sun rises low in the Green Mountains. Our gardens slumbers as the grass bends and waves in the wind, seeds flying.
