I don't think I missed the point. I understand what you meant by nuance. When you mentioned the 18 yo being in college, that's a nope from me. I don't trust a college student who wants to date a child in HS? Now, if the 18 yo was still in HS, maybe. It would depend on a number of things.
I don't think it's grooming. However, I certainly see issues with an adult dating someone in HS. As a parent, I would not allow my just legal to drive child to date someone in college.
