That thing was insane though. At it's worst, two cars couldn't pass each other. When the trench at the bottom of the hill washed out a few months back, my car bottomed out and couldn't drive through it. That road is a disaster.
When it comes to apartment construction, I always hear "if they don't include at least one parking space per unit our street parking will be impossible!" despite living in a city with reliable public transit.

But the moment you believe in a belief system, you are on the path to radicalization?
Perhaps not, but it's the easiest way to being exposed to every belief system that exists, and there's plenty of folks who believe what they see on social media
And while I think the clip you shared is a bit of a stretch, it's not like women weren't getting burned alive for having pagan beliefs during colonization. There is SOME truth to astrology hated having roots in misogyny.
I posted the words from DJ Shadow's "Building Steam" track that references cancer astrology. I just liked the song, and this guy I knew went off on me in my comments. Like yelling at me for believing stupid shit. It was totally irrational, but gave insight into what my friends deal with all the time
A long time ago around the beginning of FB, I remember having a long convo about this with this guy. I've never been into astrology or tarot, but I have a lot of close friends who are and we've always been pretty civil about it. Back then, when it was still normal to post song lyrics without context
I think it's worth pointing out the experiences I've outlined above were in person... I have no idea wtf is going on TikTok
I recently went to a party and my friends encouraged me to do a tarot reading. I thought it was pretty meh and politely said as much. They all shrugged and said you get out what you put in, and we moved on with conversation. No feelings hurt. It was pretty sane.
Yeah I mean I'm sure there are folks out there finding a way to make astrology toxic, but in my experience the majority of folks I know who are into astrology are perfectly sane and harmless with it. I've met way more assholes who feel it's their responsibility lecture you about your beliefs.
To be fair, social media is a step down the path to radicalization, and yet here we are ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
I think astrology is pretty dumb, but I don't see the point in giving people shit about it. If someone wants to believe in some nonsense, what business is that of mine?
Yeah he would've been insufferable
I had a Banana Republic Spring '91 t-shirt that passed from my older sister to my older brother and then to me, and this past year I gave it to my teenage niece ๐ it was practically in tatters
We never ate out, our vacations were always one state away in the off season, all my clothes were hand-me-downs, both of my parents did all house repairs and refinishing themselves, etc.
My dad was a metallurgical engineer for Chrysler and Bethlehem Steel and he couldn't support our family on his income alone. My mom worked part time as a nurse to help pay the bills. What mythical past are you talking about? Or do you get your history from sitcoms?
