Hopping on the datamine to check one battle line and 20 minutes later why is Mercedes/Ignatz starting to make sense?

I thought this was only women oh holy shit the possibilities. Suggestions: Dorothea giving Ignatz a kiss on the knuckles/hand… or Dorothea and Claude with a weak spot (neck, wrist, shoulder?)
Also I realized people includes Sylvain. She could just kiss Sylvain on the nose. :D I think he’d like that

The baby alcryst evolution

I’m still salty about the final results 😭

Ignatz's older brother, whom I've named Emmerich, holds a clammy, nervous Ignatz's shoulders in a supportive gesture as he sees him off for his first day at the Officers' Academy. Emmerich is about a head taller than his younger brother, with long hair of the same green tied back in a loose ponytail, bangs symmetrically framing his forehead, similarly choppy-looking but much more stylish. He also wears glasses, but his are rectangular, more sophisticated. His clothing befits his status as a successful merchant: a simple off-white shirt and brown pants underpin the more expensive pieces of his outfit, including a blue vest with gold fasteners, a green-trimmed sweater-vest underneath it, and a yellow neck scarf pinned with a red-brown-stoned brooch. Emmerich appears to be reassuring Ignatz, his calm, sympathetic smile and steady hands contrasting the younger Victor's white-knuckle grip on his book bag strap and Deer-in-the-headlights stare.

Next to arrive at the Academy are Raphael and his little sister Maya, who's taking a bit of a tougher approach to seeing her brother off. Raph is (unsuccessfully) trying to pull himself together, scrunching his eyes and shoving a wrist across his face to wipe the tears and snot from it. He's holding a small suitcase in his other hand. Meanwhile, Maya is pressing her hands into the small of his back, as if to push him through the threshold to the monastery where they're standing. She appears to be yelling in an angry-determined-supportive manner, attempting to rally Raphael for his year away from home. Maya looks to be about 11 or 12, standing almost to Raph's shoulders. Her hair is about as messy as his, a dirtier blonde, and tied back in two short pigtails. She has a round, freckly face and goldenrod eyes to match her hair. She wears what appears to be one of her brother's old shirts, which is big enough on her to almost pass for a dress over brown leggings and under a mustard-yellow apron (bordered with a thick-stitch pattern, just like the one Raphael will wear post-skip). The humble ensemble is tied together with a mineral-orange bow around Maya's waist. She looks like she's ready to jump right into running the family restaurant!

Closer to the classrooms, a tired-looking Holst carries Hilda over his left shoulder, his right laden with her many, many bags. She looks to be throwing a fit, clawing at Holst's doublet like a cat before a bath, her last-ditch effort to get carted back home falling on deaf ears as Holst stares ahead, raising an eyebrow but otherwise not reacting. Since I drew this far in advance of Three Hopes giving Holst an official design, I came up with my own design for him. He could actually pass for canon Holst in terms of build, hair color/length, and even facial structure, right down to the cleft chin, but otherwise he's leaning much more into the noble side of his position than that of the warrior. His doublet (in shades appropriately matching the Golden Deer colors) is evocative of the one Claude wears post-skip, as is the white cravat, though Holst's is tied into two neat tails. His doublet is tucked into a dark red cummerbund, the shade of which matches the fringes on his puffy, striped sleeves. Under this, he wears an off-black long-sleeved shirt, the same color as his trousers. His hair is slicked back save for a stubborn portion of his bangs, and the bottom half of his face is darkened by a rosy five-o'clock shadow.

That first image of Claude and Pasha was a follow-up to this series of Golden Deer kids getting dropped off at the Academy by their respective siblings. Apollo wasted the gift of prophecy on me because I used it all on calling Holst's chin. 🙃

"So, what do you think?" (P4) "Isn't that marvelous?" she continues, but Sylvain is too busy copying homework and Linhardt reading another book while leaning on Ignatz, who shyly raises his hand. "I-I have a question." (P5) "Does that work with a different material? Ink, for example?" Asks Ignatz, while Sylvain takes one of the cups. (P6) "Well, I never tested it myself..." Constance leans on the table thoughtful, and meanwhile, Sylvain takes a sip from the tea. (P7) "But I can assure you that is possible!" Constance winks again. "After all, the Nuvelle magic is unlim—" "Ack!" she's interrupted by Sylvain's disgust. "Tastes like wet paper."

(P8) "Impossible! Perhaps you forgot to add sugar!" Constance is annoyed, taking one of the cups for herself. (P9) and so she takes a sip... (P10) ...and happiness is instantly drained out of her, her mood drops and panel is desaturated. (P11) "Tastes like my life..." Constance speaks quietly, while Linhardt takes the lead to explain to Ignatz. "If you want to manipulate pigments, I suggest studying the Alchemy Subset of Reason Magic. Her magic consists only on manipulating light on a surface and refracting it like a prism." (P12) Constance turns back to her normal. "How did you know!?" But Linhardt goes back to his book named The Reason of Fishing. "It's simple logic." (P13) "Now that I watched your little show, will you let me study your Crest?" Linhardt asks her. (P14) "A Nuvelle always fulfills their promises." Constance accepts it. "I will visit your room tonight." (P15) "That's very noble of you, Constance. Thank you." Linhardt smiles satisfied while Sylvain is shocked. "She fell into that!?"

(P16) "I miss our professor..." Ignatz speaks sadly, holding his tea. (P17) Sylvain comforts Ignatz patting his head, and the study group quiets down, mourning the disappearance of their dear professor Byleth. (P18) "She's probably taking a nap." Linhardt suggests. "What kind of nap takes a week?" Constance asks annoyed. "My naps." He quickly adds. While they discuss, Ignatz smiles in gratitute to Sylvain. Page fades to another scene. (P19) "Sothis, look, I'm so sorry for that time in darkness I told you to turn on the light. It was a joke, alright!" Byleth holds her hands in prayer while holding her Sword of the Creator. "Now please, talk to me!" (P20) Her prayer is interrupted by none other than Kirby, finding Byleth hiding behind a cardboard box.

(P21) A splash page featuring many simultaneous battles between Super Smash Bros characters, colored streams and smokes fill the background as characters are defeated, while Byleth panicks behind Snake's cardboard box, having Kirby happy to find her and the Villager standing behind Byleth menacingly. Next to a sunlit window in the Golden Deer classroom, Ignatz and Pasha have easels set up at their respective heights, each working on a painting. Ignatz's painting appears to be a fully-grown, airborne Pasha silhouetted against a morning sun, wings glowing. He glances over at the real Pasha, tongue sticking out in concentration as he considers the likeness. Pasha's painting, meanwhile, is as crude as one can expect from a baby wyvern, but nonetheless is clearly recognizable as a portrait of Claude. Pasha paints intently, holding the brush in his mouth, his red scarf swapped out for a little white smock— which has not proven very useful, as the rest of him is splotched with yellow paint.

Kind of a huge oversight for me not to put Pasha's painting in a little frame hanging in Claude's dorm at every opportunity since I drew this. I'd like to think he snuck it into House Riegan's portrait hall at least.

After being on and off, I finished my favorite art boy Ignatz's wyvern. I'm going to be honest, I had a fun time designing this timid good girl. And to be even more honest, I just "borrowed" from HTTYD because I thought it was cute, and would fit Ignatz pretty well :)

Father... If you have to die, let it be by my hand.
This would be an unbearable burden for Diamant. So I... I must...
