We usually use our wood stove when it’s below freezing whenever possible
I think I would still take it over forced air/furnace. It’s the same either too hot/too cold issue, but with the added anxiety trigger of the sound and feeling of hot dusty air suddenly blasting into the room.
Wood stove is my fave, followed by radiator baseboards - they were so gentle & quiet
