Four curving lines (orange, yellow, baby blue, turquoise) arc across an eggshell backdrop with a pale blue ink stain. Text in the top right read β€œEcho Chamber”. Text in the bottom left reads β€œA Blades 68 miniseries.”

Onboard a glamorous airship casino, the Emissaries of the Echo tear it up on the dance floor, cause some chaos, and strike a deal.

A Game That Will Force You to Stop Procrastinating Your Gender Crisis by Jack Blair A real time tumbling tower game

everyone go play "A Game That Will Force You to Stop Procrastinating Your Gender Crisis" by @toyourstations.bsky.social

β€œgender crisis” enacts an encounter with gender that is characterized by several key traits: (1) it is playful; (2) it is repeatable, rather than final; and (3) its temporality is marked not by steady linear progression, but by a state of stasis followed by the sudden and unexpected rupture of falling blocks. Like β€œTeen Witch,” it frames the encounter as a constant process of re-discovery and self-analysis. But unlike β€œTeen Witch,” the encounter is prompted not only by internal self-exploration and embodied action, but also by compounding forces in the external world: gravity, the movement of others through the space, the slant or slope of a table or floor, the gentle shaking of nearby footsteps. The moment of β€œbecoming” is not just about how one feels, but how the world, sometimes completely unwelcome, moves us.

It represents any gendered understanding of the self as existing within a constant state of precarity, resolved only by the willingness to confront its instability over and over again. It figures transness as a form of falling, a cascading of blocks, a tumbling that crucially calls to mind not only the constant interplay of interactive forces such as gravity simultaneously supporting and pulling down on the blocks at all times, but also the act of childlike play. The collapse of a tumbling block tower elicits a kind of delighted surprise, a spontaneous laughter, a relief to the build of tension that grows and grows as pieces are removed and the tower grows taller and less steady. The collapse of a tumbling block tower elicits a desire to rebuild it and start again.

I just listened to @cprevas.bsky.social’s game of Chiron’s Doom, and I think you should too! It’s classic Chiron’s Doom β€” the curiosity, the spiralling complications, the fear…

Plus I found a new AP to listen to, and that’s always a bonus! Thank you christine!

thank you for listening! and for writing such an incredible game, I have not stopped thinking about it for a second since recording this. glad you enjoyed it!!

the people I went to see Barbarian with STILL make fun of me for how angry that movie made me

I have a LOT of practice with cutting out long pauses and making it sound seamless because, if for nothing else, andrew talks REALLY slow

18.02.2026 23:38 πŸ‘ 5 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

the unedited recording was 1 hr 14 min, so ~15 minutes of silence/rule-checking/getting distracted by text messages got edited outβ€”and, more importantly, I paused recording twice to go switch my laundry, and walking around always helps me think, so those trips to the basement were probably crucial

I've been wanting to play Chiron's Doom by @ickbat.bsky.social for YEARS, so when I needed to sit down and record a solo game for the show it was the obvious choice and, truly, this game was everything I hoped it would be and more. what a sick fucking game holy shit I had so much fun

Blades β€˜68 rips. All the history of Duskvol meets 60s retrofuturism, Cold War spy games, and industrialized paranormalism. It plays like driving a stolen autopod. I’ve been looking forward to the crowdfunder since the playtest and can’t wait to see everything Tim and Evil Hat have cooked up

rewatching the green knight, making me REALLY want to revisit Errant, give it some extra playtesting and brush up the rules, maybe reformat it and give it some art...........

CHRISTINE: Right, so… [chuckles] So Serafina tells you that Raphael was speaking toβ€”I’m not calling him known criminal Nowm Crininal! I’m not doing it! We have to give this character a real name.
[laughter]
ANDREW: How hard is it?
CHRISTINE: I can’t say it without laughing.
ANDREW: Serafina says that Raphael was talking to known criminal Nowm Crininal.
SAM: [cackles]
CHRISTINE: Well, now you’ve said it, so I don’t have to.
ANDREW: Yeah. No, that’s fine. This is my character connection. You just have to play known criminal Nowm Crimininal.
