We should be taking a hard look at/critical stance toward any celebrities saturating our screens and feeds with American flags, whether in the name of “reclamation” projects or otherwise. At any time, but now especially.

It feels like we’ve collectively just abandoned the plot—which is a structural understanding of how oppressive *systems* operate—in favor of evaluating everything based on identity politics, lived experience, and the affective relations with agents of oppression those things fabricate.
I’m struggling to articulate something I see in the discourses around both the Hunter Biden pardoning and medically assisted death. Two very different conversations, but there’s a kind of reasoning at work in both that’s troubling me.
Now if Biden really wants to do something, there is a whole long list of people unjustly imprisoned he can get to work on.
Meanwhile neoliberals are bending over backward to laud and justify Biden pardoning his son.
