I think you might enjoy my gnomes, @moeneus.bsky.social.

What happened to slime? I feel like goons, henchmen, minions etc. aren't viscous anymore like they used to be.
I don't know if I've posted this guy before so sorry if this is a repost, but I don't think I have and I like this freak, so enjoy him (and also it does not actually matter literally at all).

Being a queer POC in general really does feel like everyone has something against you sometimes.
Everything that is there is intentional because I'm not going into these artworks planning to do more even if I don't have the energy for that. I'm a lot happier with these sketches than I have been with my art in a while.
This means that pieces with this level of polish usually look bad because they aren't intended to be finished at this point- there is meant to be more that isn't there. Letting myself be looser and draw with the intent to finish at this point has been... I guess freeing, in a way?
My portfolio is actually very small despite being an artist for many years because I am β¨ disabled β¨ and that is not congruent with me always trying to force myself to put out finished pieces.
It really focuses the eye and allows for the looser areas to maintain more flow, and focusing my attention to key areas feels a lot more accessible as an artist in terms of maintaining momentum and motivation.
There is something about a sketch with only parts of it drawn with more detail feels... Mature? I don't know how to describe it, but it feels very industry concept artist's work on a Pinterest board, if that makes sense?
Traditional sketch of an elf with long gangly limbs, a long neck, fuzz on their back and neck, and a more detailed face with soft shading that is not present on the rest of the body. They are sitting on an invisible surface with one leg extended and the other bent. One arm rests on the bent leg, and the other arm reaches up to hold the resting arm's forearm. Their hair is long and straight and their facial features are long and sharp, with large eyes and eyebrows thar point upwards.
Face close up
More doodling, today we have an β¨ elf β¨
I wanted to experiment with a different way of drawing hair, and I think I like this simple silhouette style- though it might look ass on more rendered pieces.

Giant concept sketches, giant lobsters with human faces and arms. a page of light doodles, including a portrait of a bearded old man with a large nose and antennae, a small thumbnail sketch of a lobster from the side with no claws and a human face, and a large central half-body sketch of a lobster facing the viewer with the gentle face of a woman with closed eyes and human arms instead of claws.
Just doodling.Wanted to try a more experimental design for giants, as my worldbuilding project's equivalent of dwarves resemble crabs.

I think Wizards (1977) might genuinely be the single worst film I have ever seen.
descriptive alt text: pencil drawing of a stone face resembling a Greco-Roman statue of a bearded man, but with hollow eyes and a tall, pointy helmet on top of his head. The visor of the helmet is a 6-pointed star with a ring intersecting it, the bottom point of the star connecting to the open bottom of the helmet. Additional notes: It's a bit muddy and quite messy, but that's fine, it's because it's actually a small side-drawing and I plan to redraw it digitally anyway. My pencil sketches are always kinda rough, they're just more accessible for me when I'm not feeling it mentally because of the tactile nature of drawing on paper and the lack of pressure to completely polish and render everything. The visor design is based on the symbol of the Circle of Magi, the organisation that formally trains sorcerers, called the Star of Magus. Because many Western helmet eyeholes coincidentally happen to resemble a crucifix and Christianity was historically the predominant religion in the West, I thought it would be interesting to use an alternative eyehole design that resembles the iconography of my setting rather than a standard real world eyehole design that resembles real world religious iconography, even though it isn't actually intentional that world helmet eyeholes resemble crucifixes. I wanted an Elden Ring glintstone crown-esque design because I really like the air of arrogance to the point of wanting to be perceived as a work of academic art more than a person. Sorcerers in my world are also big on covering their faces, headwear that isn't a full mask like this is enchanted to completely obscure the face in magical darkness, so the big stone glintstone crowns worn by sorcerers of the Raya Lucaria Academy in Elden Ring really inspired me because they are so over the top in a simple, elegant way that I love. Likewise with Athena, I think my sorcerers would aim to resemble a statue of a god of wisdom. It is very in line with the way they perceive themselves.
I wanted to experiment with my mages, inspired by Elden Ring and statues of Athena with a helmet on top of her head. I came up with this design of a stone mask with a tall pointy helmet on top of it. I like it.

Sometimes I just say things.
Having your father's company establish a sweatshop of employees tirelessly searching Wonka chocolate bars to find a golden ticket like Veruca Salt so you can fuck the candy creatures Willy Wonka is hiding in his chocolate factory.
Performing the ancient technique to get out of an art slump called: "just fucking do it."
Having one of those art slumps where I know what I want to draw but my hands aren't cooperating.
I am tickled by the fact that media creepypastas have evolved to being unironically called "conspiracy theories" now. What do you mean you have a theory that Peppa Pig was in a coma this whole time? My guy, this is just Ash Ketchum again. Using AI-generated photos doesn't make it a conspiracy now.
Just binged The Summer Hikaru Died with a friend, never have I ever enjoyed the first half of a series so much only to like the second half so little.

A pencil drawing of a pumpkin-shaped stone vessel with a wailing face and two muscular arms grasping itself. It is wrapped in vines and a creature peers from inside the pot's gaping mouth. A lesser daemon allowed to enter the material plane under the condition that he is trapped within this small stone vessel, a little larger than a human fist. This genie does not grant wishes- rather, he provides his master with items from his world, or other locations that he is permitted to access. This one specialises in grapes, which he dutifully slices into delicate wedges so they may fit through the mouth of his pot.
It's a bit sloppy, but I've had this idea for a while and I just wanted to get it on paper. basically, this guy (actually an ornate pot) is like a magic vending machine. the being inside gives you stuff through the pot's mouth. More in alt.

Literally a ceramic pumpkin with arms and a face that spits out individual slices of cut up grape.
Just had an out of body experience while locking in to draw a dramatically posed arm with detailed musculature because I remembered that I'm drawing a grape dispenser.
Why does he look marooned? Pick a struggle, you can't be conservative AND shipwrecked.
I don't normally post stuff like this, but I thought I'd share what I've been up to.
