Foster the People really put on a show tonight in Vancouver. Iβm only gonna get 5 hrs of sleep but it was one of my more memorable birthdays.

The term βrobberyβ is as overused as it is hyperbolic, but that doesnβt change the fact that there were some awful scorecards doled out in 2024.
I list the yearβs most egregious decisions and explain why they were so bad in my latest via @Home_of_Fight: www.homeoffight.com/news/ufc/wor...
I will be in Los Angeles in 2 weeks. Not yet sure if Iβll attend UFC 311 but that option is there for me.
13 years ago, Johny Hendricks beats Jon Fitch with 2 punches
@ryanawagmma.bsky.social Have you seen this?
I donβt recall this technique being used before
Abdulaziz Abdulvakhabov using a knee on neck in his most recent fight
My candidate for KO of the year
Vinicius Oliveira vs Bernardo Sopaj without commentary
Chito catches Fig dipping into a cute little skip up knee
Unfortunately this was the only strike he threw in the whole fight
Rewatch a few days ago and thought it was a competitive fight and winnable for Chito
Iβm interested to see how Yan will approach a low volume counter puncher thatβs presumably faster than him.
Probably competitive for the rounds 1-3. Who knows how it goes for 4-5.
If you wake up at 5:20 am in PST, it should be in time for the main event
I really hope this place improves media quality.
Video uploads only work if itβs under 60 seconds and 50 MB. Sometimes it fails for some reason.
Can upload gifs but they donβt play.
Being able to embed old X posts is a huge place on the other app too.

Yan vs Figuereido is my most anticipated MMA fight of the month
I think thereβs a 5% chance it ends in NC due to eye poke ποΈ
Going to rewatching their MMA careers starting in 2019

Thanks for reading. If you liked this thread, please check out the article that goes into GSP vs Condit in greater detail β see below
volkarafrance.substack.com/p/17-novembe...
Although considered βboringβ during his title reign, the Carlos Condit fight would be one of his more exciting title defences in his safety-first reign
They earn Fight of the Night honours and GSP earns his 11th UFC title fight win
The trap guard ultimately proved to be a losing strategy against GSP as Condit was unable to outwork GSP from the bottom or consistently get up
The champion landed ground n pound inside the closed guard and outside the open guard all night long
Throughout the fight, Conditβs trap guard proved to be tricky as he often limited GSPβs offence with posture breaks and continuously looked for sweep attempts
There were even instances of elbows landed
Conditβs defensive wrestling exhibited in the championship rounds was much more stubborn and persistent compared to the previous rounds
Instead of conceding them, Condit looked for switches to extend scrambles and even completed a successful reversal with one
Early in R4, the challenger was quick to build on his successes of the previous round with more high kicks
He threw them from the southpaw stance as well but GSP is able to block and evade them β takedowns becoming more and more a necessity
Recognizing the imminent danger, GSP secures his much needed takedowns for R3
Condit is briefly able to stand up with the fence as his aid but is taken down again and restrained for the rest of the round
Condit attained top control for almost a minute and his persistent ground n pound left a lasting mark on the champion
GSP is eventually able to escape and avoids becoming victim #27 of the Natural Born Killer
Early in R3, the challenger uses 2 throwaway punches to set up an elusive high kick, flooring the champion in front of his home crowd
St-Pierre never sees it coming and is forced to survive the ensuing onslaught
Although successful with his bull rushes off the cage, the champion still found the best significant strikes of R2
Condit was not deterred by this setback and was always keying in on potential openings at range
He realized more success than many previous foes, partly due to his 6β2β frame but also due to being a skilled kickboxer and some champion ring rust
The champion landed significant offence inside of Conditβs guard
The most notable was a left elbow at the end of R1 which caused profuse bleeding throughout the fight
Many questions surrounded GSPβs projected performance: his recovery, his time away from the octagon, and returning against a foe with 26 finishes
Conditβs Achilles heel was the inverse of GSPβs greatest asset β Wrestling
2 for 2 in R1 & R2 β 1 proactive, 1 reactive
GSP vs Condit didnβt materialize either though β GSP suffered an ACL tear in his right knee, requiring surgery and extensive time off
GSP and his Tristar team committed to a minimal rehab recovery of 9 months, in time to headline UFC 154 in Montreal
The story of GSP vs Condit dates back 15 months prior
When Nick Diaz failed media obligations for UFC 137, Carlos Condit was promoted as the challenger and Diaz was demoted to fighting BJ Penn
