2,000-year-old Tamil-Brahmi inscriptions discovered in Egyptโs Valley of the Kings | Tamil Guardian
The inscriptions were identified during a study conducted in 2024 & 2025 by Prof Charlotte Schmid & Prof Ingo Strauch & were presented in a paper titled โFrom the Valley of the Kings to India: Indian Inscriptions in Egyptโ @ the Internl Conf on Tamil Epigraphy.

An example of the 8 Tamil graffiti discovered in 5 different tombs in the Valley of the Kings. The graffiti say "Cikai Korran"(the Indian merchant's name) & are dated 1st-3rd cent CE. The scholars who deciphered them gave a paper in Chennai a few days ago.

This is a great article about the 80 pairs of sandals ๐ฉด buried with King Tut (afterlife shoes!), but itโs disappointing that they donโt mention the 4 pairs of socks (from the Greek ฯฯฮบฯฮฟฯ) ๐งฆ discovered. Note: the socks worn with the sandals are just as interesting!
