In other words, the exact reverse of any lesson the US might have wanted to teach Iran. Meanwhile the Iranians would have learned that when Trump says help is coming to rise up against the regime, it really isn’t.
It will be an immense relief if this war really is nearly over, & I don’t want it to continue for a minute longer. But God almighty, what a self-defeating mess. Somehow the US has made itself look weaker ultimately by projecting strength.
