The EU and individual European countries have no idea how much damage their protection of Israel does to their reputation in the Global South — and some progressive parties to their voters at home. This can have generational effects!

This is absolutely INSANE! Israel has attacked Israel and Lebanon, unprovoked, but for the EU Hezbollah is the problem. 🤷‍♂️

So much to reflect on… and to be better on.

The securitization of the 2026 World Cup is such a fascinating topic. I wish I had the resources (i.e. an external funder) to do a comparative study, comparing national responses between the three host countries as well as local/regional differences within each country (particularly U.S.).

I fully agree! The same for Europe, including traditional pro-US countries like Germany and the Netherlands.

I don't know the numbers, but I get the impression that political science is a much whiter discipline than sociology - particularly outside 1-2 subfields.

To be clear, I rarely encounter manels in political science. This is mostly in non-academic settings.
