It's what I'm celebrating today; for me, it's the highest holiday in the whole year. The season of winter may have only really begun (def. not my season!), but in a few days, days will get longer again slowly but steadily. There IS still hope... in nature.

A German class 1440 battery electric train, the part with the main traction batteries on the roof.
I'm officially licensed to operate these now. The interesting thing is on the roof: batteries to power the engines (and other high voltage equipment)! From next year on, they are supposed to replace the Diesel powered trains on my main route (only slightly delayed by two years 😁).
