and to my mutuals here, some of your fics are going to be immortalized for me in my ereader and I will be carrying them w me everywhere I go.

Okay. The thing just arrived today. In preparation, I downloaded epubs for ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN of my fave fics off ao3. Now to figure out how to side load all of them, with covers somehow

-totally waterproof which is great bc I live near water and like chilling in it
-has a browser (beta feature so slow but serviceable) through which you can access ao3 on directly and download fics from

There are lots of other pluses but these are the ones that appeal to me.

in case anyone wants a rec, I went with a kobo Clara colour because:
-not amazon so no ads and purchases not locked to kindle’s whims
-reportedly sustainable w easily replaceable parts
-easy uploading of epubs and non-kobo content. can also do audiobooks, manga, comics and such
-Bluetooth and wifi

the ao3 outage frustrated me so badly that I decided to just go ahead and buy an ereader to upload my fav fics to. I’d been toying the idea for a few months anyway, but that was definitely my last straw. just Normal Rot Things I guess

who knows if I’ll ever color this. perhaps in a couple months
