Today is Empty the Tanks Day - a global call to end the #captivity of #whales and #dolphins. These intelligent beings belong in the wild, not confined to tanks used for so-called entertainment. As @billyheaney.bsky.social says, 'Nothing beats seeing a whale or dolphin, wild and free.'
Crikey what a journey this has been. After a week of travelling, days spent battling through monster waves (10 metres at one point), and lots of card games with fellow Antarctic adventurers, my boots have finally hit the ground and I’ve spent the morning surrounded by Gentoo penguins. 🐧

I’ve never seen so many #humpbacks in one place! I’ve been lucky to spot them off Vancouver and a mother and calf near Sydney Harbour, but this encounter in #Skjervøy was next level.
