Time for my annual story time!! The TL;DR is that the links below will take you to donation opportunities for schools and other charities across Alaska that will be open for the duration of the Iditarod (starts Sunday). So bookmark the post below if you don't want to lose it. 1/
Is it irony if it's true?
This is spot on.
Sincerest sympathies.
Last time I redid the roof, they dropped the entire load of shingles through the corner of my house. Took out my bathroom. Ended up with insurance follies, contractor follies, new siding, new gutters, new bathroom, partial reno of other bathroom, and eventually, new roof. 😱
And long may it continue.
It's that or incoherent screaming.

things every single republican president of your lifetime has done
- started a war in the middle east
- completely destroyed the economy
I love finally dragging myself online after an exhausting week of teaching & existing to find out my country has decided to start another war.
Turns out my naive belief at twelve years old was actually correct: patriotism is dumb and countries are like high schools if the sports teams did murders.
She's talking about law, but it applies to AI in general. Academic research, tech writing, medical analysis, you name it.
When the bubble bursts, it's going to be a huge honking mess. Think Hindenburg.
White cat with black ears and side spot sits on table in glowing light. She looks like a statue.
White cat with black ears curls on purple fleece with green fleece in foreground. The light is supernally beautiful. It looks like a Renaissance painting.
My cat is being art this morning.
Lee and the late Miller are cat people from way back. Gorgeous Maine Coons.
I am asking people to recommend books with cats in. I'll be writing about some of them.
Also, dogs and other animals. I have done shapeshifters previously. Am now on aliens and space critters.
It's a whole series! Four articles on cats and counting (I just handed in the next one, which will go live on Monday).

Hey! Guys, I write a series on Reactormag called SFF Bestiary. Have you written a book, sff or f, that features aliens based on earth animals? We're on cats now. Would love some new reads. Can't promise to feature them all, but let us know about your book. Every little bit helps.
A black tortoiseshell kitten lies on her back in a splash of sunlight. The tortitude is strong in this one.
You're invoking the power of...
TORTITUDE
It just might work.
I'll be following KB Spangler's live snark and reading Dungeon Crawler Carl for an article. It's amazingly apt. And there's a cat!
Look up St Munditia in Munich. She's...something.
Slumped at the Resolute Desk with a phalanx of toadies holding red hats?
The women knew. He was on the "don't let him get within ten feet of you" list when I was a dewy-eyed young baby writer in the early Eighties.
We had a long list.
You transmuted them. It's yours. I mean there's the old saw about roses and shit.
So now it's "OK, X-er"?
I was going to ask. I think it's a good idea. Therapy Good.
Sending such strength as I can.
I wish I could make it all better.
It's just this emptiness. Huge hole in the heart of the world.
I basically stopped existing when Pooka died. Still not really all there, despite the other horses, and his Uncle Bela coming to take me over (not to mention Prize, who is a whole Mood all by himself).
As vital as the shows are to the local economy, I really wish no one would come to this country now. It is not safe.
Beautiful silver-white horse with long mane and forelock curls his neck and head around woman in purple shirt with her back to the camera, arms wrapped around him in a hug. His expression is soft and kind.
Pooka lay down and never woke up on the morning of farrier day. That...was a day.
I am so sorry you have had to have that day.
