Ural owl is a top bird, my fav Euro owl. Would love to see one again. Bialowieza is a superb ancient forest and we had great views of Pygmy Owl, Hazel Grouse, Nutcracker, Les Spot Eagle and Thrush Nightingale. Lake Siemianowka is another hot spot, really good for warblers, waders, terns and raptors.
Missed the pecker in both Poland and Belarus. Had Three-toed in the Bialowieza, cracking bird. Steller's would be very nice.
Very nice! There are a few 'needed' ones on there for my euro list as well, especially White-backed pecker - a proper bogey species for me!
Cheers Tony.
Cheers Dan. Whereabouts are you going?
