Did once buy so much that it wouldn't fit in my cases(And we're talking suitcases, not carry on). I asked the hotel for a box and sent myself a parcel from New York. I sent it via boat, not plane, so it was cheaper & it meant I got a present from myself a month later. Always an option.

Now, when I reread some of those 70's comics, so many of those thought bubbles were often just exposition...but as a child reading those comics for the first time, that exposition played a part in teaching me about "drama". Now I don't need that exposition, but only because of that early "training".

That car arrived with just over an hour to go, & went on barely any of the main routes.
We were racing down streets full of homes & he was doing 50-60 mph whenever he could.
Got us to JFK with 20 minutes to spare. Then the flight got delayed because of snow in Chicago but that's a different story.

They told us not to panic, that we would definitely be there within 4 hours...plenty of time to check in...I explained that we were on an INTERNATIONAL flight, not domestic.
THEY then panicked.
They arranged a car to collect us and get us to the airport ASAP.

Called them again, a little stressed now. Again, they apologised, said they were on their way.
30 minutes, still nothing. It's now 1hr and 30min till we need to check in.
Called them again. They apologised, and asked what time the flight was. Told them it was 5 and a half hours time.

1st time I went with my missus. Xmas time. She'd booked transfers to & from JFK. Flight home was the day before Xmas eve, she'd arranged the minibus to JFK for 3 hours before we needed to check in...it didn't show up...we called them, they apologised and said they were on the way. Hour goes by...

Never been a big fan of flying either...unfortunately, I am a big fan of going nice places. Just think of what's waiting for you at the other end.
You wait till you see Manhattan in the distance for the first time, the anxiety will be replaced with the best kind of butterflies.
Have the best time.

Got to say, I'm a big fan of David Jonsson...He killed it in this, and he was brilliant in "The Long Walk" as well.
I've then JUST realised that he was in "Rye Lane" a couple of years back as well.

I only hope that when the arc bends back towards justice, that we remember these times and don't take them for granted.
That we work towards making protections for people a little less easy to just overturn and throw in the bin.

What a recipe...the USA, with the "help" of some allies, has rained down a beating on a middle Eastern country, known for supporting terrorists, JUST in time for the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Does Iran encourage actual attacks...or do they just imply they will and watch ICE do THEIR thing??

A danger with that comes with people like myself (I'm told I'm in a small minority, but nonetheless there are people like me), that don't WANT to watch videos, have no choice, so tend to just watch them silently & read the captions. If those captions aren't correct, it leads to miscommunication.

"I never thought I would say this, but for the first time since I was able to vote, when I next get to vote I won't be voting for the Labour party. I don't even know where to start...My most important concern, you are NOT doing anywhere near enough about the situation in Gaza (I imagine you are scared of being labelled antisemitic). Please be aware, you ARE going to be on the wrong side of history and Mr Starmer will be an embarrassing footnote in the history books.
A very close second to this though...stop trying to appeal to the right wing...I'm as certain of this as I am of the above, you are NEVER going to win over any Reform voters, all you are doing is losing loyal Labour voters. Leave appealing to the right wing for the tories...They are going full right wing, and you should be equally going left wing, not timidly following them!! Show people the real difference in ideologies, don't try to be a "Diet Tory"!!
I had high hopes when Keir Starmer became leader of the party, and gladly shouted it from the rooftops before the general election you won...now...I'm sick of being dunked on. They are using your current courting of the right wing as "proof" that even the Labour party have realised that we don't want "all these foreigners here".
I think you've done some good work since taking power, but for every piece of good work, there are countless embarrassing TV appearances, U-turns, and shameful pandering to the right.
Take a stand...a simple first step: Leave Twitter...Your presence on that cesspool of a website (And 100's of others)continues to give Elon Musk credibility, lest you've forgotten, this man is a Nazi!!
I feel sick to my stomach for saying it, but I can't in all good conscience vote for this party anymore, but I thought I would give me reasons why in the hope that if enough of us speak up, you might listen...I really doubt it though. Please feel free to prove me wrong though."
The attached screenshot is from a complaint I made to the Labour party last August...I was ONCE a member of the Labour party through my union affiliation (I am now no longer a member of either, that's another story) and still consider myself a Labour supporter.

I always find lots of new comics are like this now...It's pretty poor, and shows what these companies think of their customers.
This Marvel thing of having different price points, some having better cover stock than others, is REALLY bad as, to me, that's deliberately done.

This recent thing of launching a new #1, no hint that it's going to just be a limited run...then they get to #10 and finish it!!!
It's got to the point where I don't trust new titles anymore. I don't mind a good limited series, or mini-series, but tell me that's what it is in advance!!!

What movie death scene is seared into your memory?
This was a very close call between Samuel's death and Tristan's death...but Samuel's death in a World War 1 battlefield just hits on so many more levels.

I often like his work. When he's talking about his passions, he's very knowledgeable and interesting to listen too...but his friendships leave a lot to be desired. I've never really gotten over the whole "Sachsgate" thing...He seems to be easily led, and has some questionable friends.

Do people realise, those scenes in the Robocop films where corporations run parts of government and start dictating terms...
That film was meant to be a cautionary tale, not a freaking instruction manual!
