When you are faced with the mendacity of Trump, Hegseth, & Johnson, itβs pointless to try & get clarity from them.
Go to the trusted sources. If you want to understand how we got here and what Trump & Netanyahu are up to, I present to you she who knows: Christine Amanpour. Breaking. It. Down.
Reading is a privilege that many have died for. Donβt take it for granted
My job is often hard and I complain a lot. But a 6 yo just spent 5 minutes talking to me about his favorite movies, favorite foods, and his birthday. This is our first conversation all school year bc he's usually crying. I'm so proud of him. I really do love this gig.
The executive targets his opponents w/bogus investigations. His government disappears people w/out due process and vanishes them beyond reach. He usurps legislative power, controls public funds at will, & consolidates power. Loyalty is expected β or else.
Authoritarianism isnβt coming. Itβs here.
Itβs National Library Week & here are a few things libraries have available outside of books:
Wifi, computer, & printer access
Musical instruments
Museum passes
Movies
Clubs & classes
Craft & science kits
Gardening tools & free seeds
Games & toys
Just some reasons to support our libraries.
Just added this to my TBR. Thanks!
I really enjoyed The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. I saw a lot of mixed reviews and extended my Libby hold multiple times. Turns out a story about race relations, family, and community was exactly what I needed this week.

I am so jealous of people who can DNF a book with no guilt. I was trying to explore more genres and ended up struggling through a book of short stories. I feel bad because the stories are written well, I just don't like them.
Oh I'm definitely in then. I'll take extra naps during those discussions π€£
Are all events mandatory? I've never seen GoT.
I'm going to leave the same load of laundry in the washer for another day, maybe 2.
Talked with @andersoncooper360.bsky.social about what is, and what IS NOT, DEI. And what Trump & his confederates are trying to accomplish with erasing the accomplishments of non-white people, women and LGBTQ people.
Finally got The Love Lyric by Kristina Forest from Libby. These people I live with bet not bother me tonight.

Payless will always be that girl. I miss her so much π’
I used whine nonstop about picking greens, tomatoes, and greenbeans out of my uncle's huge garden as a kid. Now I miss it so bad.
Black AF History is good but it keeps me in my feels. I have the audiobook and Michael Harriot is a great narrator.
Just got them. Can't wait to read them. β€οΈ
You've Been Served by Kristen Alicia
Black AF History by Michael Harriot.
I really enjoyed this book. I read it in December and scenes still randomly pop in my head.
Choking. Especially when it's water.
Greed
The number and success of slave rebellions in the US. There were many and them folks were terrified.
Showing sincere kindness to the kids I work with. People are horrible to chicken.
To my Black folk: As February draws to a close, remember that our survival in this country is an accomplishment in itself.
