Marriage License and Civil Unions Name Changes: Allows people to get a new marriage license and civil union license after a name change with no indication that a change occurred and retains the original effective date.
School Chosen Name and Dress Code Policies: If schools or staff enact chosen name policies, they must be inclusive of all reasons a student might adopt a name different from their legal one. Students must be allowed to choose freely from any of the dress code clothing options provided.
Good news! After a vote late last night, the Kelly Loving Act (HB25-1312) is on its way to the governorβs desk for signature. This is the last step before the bill becomes law. This bill is an example of people-powered legislation that centers community voices.

A newly released U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) report attempts to replace decades of best-practice medical care for transgender youth by interfering in the freedom to make medical medical decisions for ourselves and our families with our doctors.
Today, RMEQ was proud to support the Equality Act, which was reintroduced in the United States Congress. This act will include LGBTQ+ people in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and extend protections for sexual orientation and gender identity.
