Bolt Action’s fun and definitely worth a try! I appreciate how simple the base rules are and the “determining turn/unit activation order” is a really fun mechanic.

Óláfr looks like he’s the sort of guy who posts on /r/balding and looks a million times better when he finally shaves his head
You think leaving the front brickwork white too?
I can literally only find one picture of it painted online www.warlordgames.com/wp-content/u...
And they did just leave the front and balcony an off-white color too
A photo of a miniature 3 story hotel for WW2 miniature wargaming. It is made from MDF wood with a painted green roof and off-white color the rest of the building. There is a balcony off the second story which is painted white since I’m not sure what the carved design is intended to represent. Maybe tiles…? Maybe more bricks?
Close up of the balcony design
Building the #Warlords #BoltAction Rural Village set but not sure what color to paint the hotel balcony. Is this meant to be brickwork? wood parquet flooring?
I was going to paint the front columns as red brickwork but that seems wrong for the balcony floor
Any thoughts? #nerdlings #wargaming
Nailed the camo on the zeltbahn!
A photo of four trading cards. 3 are Magic the Gathering cards (Snow-Covered Island, Snow-Covered Island, and Bonny Pall,Clearcutter) and a fourth card is a token card for representing a 2/2 bird token in MTG. This token depicts a Loon firing a laser from its beak with the words “Fuck Ice” written near it
I need to swap out An Offer You Can’t Refuse with Swan Song in my Minnesota-themed Bonny Pall #Commander deck after my buddy gave me this dope 2/2 bird token.

Photo of a miniature painted plastic German WW2 era Flakpanzer Ostwind self propelled anti-aircraft gun. The vehicle is painted tan with blotches of green and brown randomly scattered on the tan; for a camouflage effect. Foliage has been added to the rim of the open topped turret for concealment for the 3-man crew operating the heavy autocannon anti-tank gun.
Finishing painting a Flakpanzer IV ‘Ostwind’ for my #boltaction German motor pool - tried adding “improvised camo/added in the field” style foliage to the turret to add some character.
Could probably use some more highlights - but it’s good enough for the table

Does anyone have pictures of English Civil War inspired #turnip28 armies?
“Roundheads” seems like it’d fit into the vegetable theme pretty seamlessly. #miniatures #nerdlings #wargaming
Good luck on the journey!
Sick! That’ll be so fun with different scenarios
Edited together a #wargaming battle report for the first time - really fun process that I’ve learned a lot from
Tried to edit it in a short, punchy style to contrast the “2 hour long, show every die roll” style of battle report

Played in the SNAFU #BoltAction event this weekend! 2 major losses, 2 draws that couldn’t have been closer.
Couple of different dice rolls and the draws could have been wins for sure. Good times and great tables!

A photo of miniatures set up for a D&D encounter. The party approaches an underground fortress’ exterior walls and gate. …There’s also a cat in between the terrain and the DM screen. But he blends in a bit because the screen is a similar shade of orange as him.
my cat nailed his Stealth skill roll during this weekend’s D&D session #nerdlings #d&d #cat
Picture of a black and white book illustration. The depiction is a fantasy setting, looking along the road towards a walled city On the red are two dead horses and a shattered wagon. On either side of the road are the cause of the caravan’s demise: two frost giants dressed in furs and Viking style horned helmets and a white dragon clinging to a cliff near the road. As the caption points out - there’s no gnolls here.
“The party faces a gauntlet to enter Zhentil Keep: a white dragon, two frost giants and gnolls (not pictured)”

just getting into town was hard back in back in the day

Nailed it!
Painted miniatures of monstrous creatures from Dungeons & Dragons. There is: a blue skinned, black robed witch with a black wooden staff. A larger water creature painted in shades of blue with two tentacles on its face. And finally, a much larger “giant” sized skeleton wearing a Viking horned helmet, tattered clothes, and dragging a large axe behind it. There’s also a smaller black painted cauldron as well.
DMed the Cauldron Cave from #d&d #rimeofthefrostmaiden this past weekend.
So - I painted up minis for all the monster encounters and was pretty happy how they turned out! The Frost Giant Skeleton is a great add to the mini cabinet

Photo of miniature painted 1930s Ford era pick up truck and a piano. Both are simulated to be stuck in the mud by adding them on a brown painted base. The piano is brown and the truck is green.
Same miniatures but from a different angle and with two 28mm miniature WW2 era German soldiers standing next to the base for scale.
Some scatter #terrain for #BoltAction. That scene in Band of Brothers where the paratroopers run past the piano in the Carentan street always has stuck with me, so I wanted one for the table - both the truck and the piano are #3Dprints

Those Victrix sculpts are sick
I think the idea of Kriegsspiel is fascinating - but it’s also completely opaque and the details a total mystery to me haha
What are you looking at here? Are you debating game actions or needing to make game decisions?
Took a picture of deployment of my game in the past weekend! Should have taken more haha
Photo of painted 28mm scale miniatures depicting WW2 era German soldiers. The soldiers are wearing grey uniforms and some wear camouflage ponchos over those. They are holding various WW2 era weapons and are standing inside a miniature trench.
A zoomed in photo of two of the German soldiers in the same trench, both wearing ponchos and holding rifles.
Been having a lot of fun with #BoltAction lately but haven’t had a reason to use this (probably too big) trench piece - so I threw my Grenadiers in there for a couple pics!

This is absolute next level stuff - I’d be blown away seeing this on a table
I’ve always thought this vaguely Middle Eastern inspired MDF set looked pretty good!
ttcombat.com/products/oas...
Maybe that’d be some good inspiration!
Needs some overgrown ruins to help block LOS and add some extra cover!
Happy retirement @chrisperkinsdnd.bsky.social ! Your DMing for Acquisitions Incorporated back in 4e got me back into #dnd . Now, some 17 years later I still am inspired by your DM style and lessons learned from those old podcasts from 2008.
