Why?
Tellya the truth, I'm not crazy about graphic splatterporn. I'm more partial to cute-camp-counselors-running-around-half-nekkid-porn, but #Svengoolie airs on broadcast teevee. Violence is allowed; nekkidity, not.
If we don't get at least one episode of #StarTrek #SNW in which Kirk talks a computer to death, I shall be sore disappointed.

Supposedly, they had a really hard time getting Flynn to engage with the fight work... until Rathbone called him a "dirty little Australian" and boasted about how much more he was making. Flynn damn near killed him.

Part of it, too, was his feeling that he was trapped in "unimportant" work. Most of the Holmes films were low-budget programmers, not suitable for... ACT-ING!
Sadder addendum: Rathbone even resorted to having a Sherlock Holmes stage play written for him to star in, since that audience seemed to want nothing else... and the play flopped. Hollywood is a hard dollar.

Rathbone's later career was sort of a shame. As brilliant as he was as Sherlock Holmes, he got as thoroughly typecast as any actor ever has been, and had to make a living, in his last years, in schlock horror movies.
