I tried to talk to my mother about it, and she talked a lot about how much thought and prayer they put into my name.

So I swapped my first and middle names, feminising my former first name. (With an i is male, with an e is female, and no my first name wasn’t Francis)

Fits as well as the old one 🤷‍♀️

I really couldn’t come up with a name I liked. I’ve never really liked my name, and had come to terms that it just is. I had thought of Danica, a name I’d been given as a character in an online rpg, but I have a cousin Danielle and a half brother Danny.

Ok, having read the article, I think my point still stands. Women’s sports aren’t the problem; the problem is finding money. But there’s no talk of cutting men’s sport. Yes, men’s football and basketball (and lacrosse) are profitable, but that shouldn’t be at the expense of women’s sport.

I wish I could read the article. Why would women’s sport be at risk and not men’s sport? Why isn’t that a bigger issue?

Well it ended up being two hours and the other backup got off his regular job to take over. I need to talk to someone about doing this for a regular gig.

Between the sound levels, what to do if no one signs up, reading people’s (tipsy) handwriting, I think the worst part of the five(!) hours is trying to punch up encouraging people to applaud 🤦‍♀️

So tonight I’m hosting karaoke on my own, rather than as a backup for the regular person. (They had a bartender sick)

So today I got my first real taste of ai for software development. It certainly does make everything faster, from development to testing to documentation.

I’m absolutely checking its work as I go, since I know google ai is wrong half the time.

But it makes me wonder how long I’ll be needed 😓

So lately I’ve started a relationship with a young woman which seems to be only for play, went dancing and made out with a woman, and have had some very promising chats with a couple others. Tonight I even offered to a friend I’d known a bit

But something changed when I started physical therapy. All of sudden there became the possibility that the new parts I’d had installed could be something more than . . . functional. 😅

And then last years depression made everything horrific, so I didn’t really go out or see anyone.

Even after the depression, things didn’t really pick up. Yes, I was going out and reconnecting with friends, but not to any kind of relationship.

So anyway, back to the original thread, from which I digressed twice 🤦‍♀️

Since my surgery (almost two years ago) my sex drive has been pretty much nonexistent. Mainly because of the trauma of the surgery (no regrets!) but also because I fell back into feeling I shouldn’t abuse (🙄) this gift.
