Thanks to @versedaily.bsky.social for all the ❤️ during the last days of December! ICYMI, 4 poems from AGNI were featured in a single week!
I’ve written a lot of things in the past decade but this list of tips on reading more books is the thing I continue to get the most messages about—a strong case for the importance of service journalism!
Grateful for the love of relations near and far and my ancestors’ embrace. I made soon dubu chigae with mushrooms foraged by my friend and her mom in the Pacific Northwest mountains. Thank you to this land on which I’m a guest for nourishing me. Gentleness and warmth to all these final days of 2024.
My little one is learning to make clay vessels with coils. The figurine is because sometimes a candy dish needs a helper. 😊
Happy Winter Solstice! May 동지 find you warm, peaceful, and held. www.korea.net/NewsFocus/Cu...

Essential reading from @antonhur.com.
“In burning thirst
In burning thirst
Democracy forever”
—From Kim Chi-ha’s “In Burning Thirst” translated from the Korean by Jack Jung (originally posted on X) @daybreakjung.bsky.social
“‘I can’t believe I’m seeing a martial law declaration in my lifetime,’ said 30-year-old Bae, echoing the sentiments of many who are witnessing such an event for the first time.”

Thinking of this poem today by Joy Harjo. I first taught it at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles as an ABD adjunct in 2005. These stanzas and their tonal subtleties land with the emotional insight of ritual. Read the full poem here: poets.org/poem/perhaps...
This powerhouse poem by DeeSoul Carson will blast off your Monday (any day, really!): agnionline.bu.edu/poetry/good-...
Congratulations, @izineh.bsky.social Issam Zineh! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve long admired Kim Ki-taek’s poems. How marvelous to read this gripping translation by Jack Jung.
Sure! Thank you for connecting here. 😊
Picture of a poem called “that has been entrusted to us” about bird nests built from detritus, extreme weather, summer camp, wildfire smoke, the hot ocean, swimming at summer camp, and buddy check
The black and white cover of the 100th issue of AGNI
Each cabinet pick is a new fresh hell so here’s a poem from @agnimagazine.bsky.social 100 (!) about birds’ nests made from detritus, extreme weather, + swimming at summer camp. Remember ‘buddy check’? Let’s re-implement buddy check for the next few years maybe for, like, everything? #ecopoetry
