It is a massive problem- plastics are made from chemical feedstocks that are extremely cheap, and established supply chains and manufacturing make the economics of plastic very hard to compete with/disrupt. I agree reducing use and the demand side is probably best approach.

OMs are great! My only issue was that there seemed to be far fewer lenses vs the F or FD mount which were everywhere.

Ugh. Hating this “if it’s natural, it must be safe”. Lots of natural poisons (strychnine, arsenic…) as evidence otherwise. Trust in tox profile data NOT the origin for a given compound. Ironically the natural sourced compounds likely needed to be extracted with (much worse) chlorinated solvents….

I live next door in New Brunswick. I love Maine and have many happy memories visiting. I am sorry we are boycotting but we feel we have to- it’s existential.

We visited South Carolina for our winter breaks for 9 consecutive years. Last year we returned for the first time since COVID but we won’t be back. Not safe. Not welcome.

Just more evidence that giving up my membership 4 years ago was no big loss.

Just yesterday I was thinking I need to pick up an E6 kit and use up my few rolls of ektachrome and velvia that is now out of date.

I read it aloud to my oldest when she was 11. I was also amazed that while the writing is way more dense than current teen fiction she was absolutely rapt by the story! Fun!
