After April 30, the paper-delivered IELTS will not longer be offered in Morocco.
It also invites users to "take a Duolingo quiz" which appears to be built using practice questions taken from the Duolingo English Test website... which have been modified and simplified.
And it is also incorrectly scored.
Here's another frustrating article on English tests out of the UK. The Times quotes a reddit post and presents it as a complaint about the AI scoring used in the Duolingo English Test... when in fact it was a complaint about a third party practice app.

The paper-delivered IELTS will be eliminated in Lebanon and Laos on March 1, in Thailand and Mongolia on March 22, in Algeria and Tunisia on April 30, in Togo on 24 May, in Ghana on June 21,
Since my last post on the subject, the test has been eliminated in Poland and Palestine.
The publication date of the new Official Guide to the TOEFL has been pushed back to August (per its Amazon listing). The price of the temporary "pocket edition" of the guide has increased by $6.
Here's a research report from IELTS that really goes to town on the new TOEFL.

An NABP task force has recommended the acceptance of OET scores in addition to TOEFL scores.

There is also a "pocket edition" of the Official Guide to the TOEFL available now.
According to reports, ETS has been ordered to pay a penalty to a test taker for unclear identification requirements.

I suppose it doesn't really matter anymore, but I've been hearing about a lot of big changes from TOEFL speaking score reviews. Plus or minus two points seems common now.
It could be worth asking if score review will even be possible with the new test, which is supposed to be scored wholly by AI.
Starting in January, score users will no longer get paper TOEFL score reports.

Pearson has been fined quite a lot of money by OFQUAL for issues related to cheating on the PTE, and the timeliness of their reporting of these issues to regulators.

The official FAQ for the IELTS scoring screwup has been updated. We now know exactly how many tests were affected.

Just when you thought it was all going to blow over, the IELTS marking screwup has hit the right wing press.
It seems like the whole smorgasbord of test prep now offered by ETS consists almost entirely of test-task stuff (specifically practice tests and AI scoring). Perhaps the Study.com packages has something else, but I doubt it.
ETS has gone into overdrive when it comes to making money from test prep. Really amazing the amount of stuff they are selling, reselling and allowing their name to be slapped on.
The IELTS partners are retroactively adjusting test scores from as far back as 2023.

Says the University of Oxford: "Changes to the TOEFL iBT test are being introduced on 21 January 2026. The University will not accept TOEFL tests taken from that date to meet the English language condition until a review of the revised test has been completed."

The University of Cambridge (undergraduate) will not accept TOEFL scores from tests taken after December 31, 2025.
Had I been advising the TOEFL team (imagine that) I would have insisted on the publication of research on the validity of the test.

The 5th request for information re: the HOELT is a shocker. It seems the Home Office is interested in the possibility of the HOELT being primarily an at-home test.
ETS seems to have launched an "Official AI learning platform" for TOEFL prep. It costs $1500 for a year's membership. But weird comments coming out of China, as apparently ETS China denies that they are associated with it. How strange.
