Having an inspiring day with Foto Matter Collective at Black Beach Art Book Fair in Minneapolis, buying too many photo books. Oops.

Tried out another thrifted point-and-shoot camera, and little Olympus. Worked like a charm.

β€œHologram Receptionist: People interacting with hologram and screen IRL”

New Stock Pile!
Series inspired by prompts from stock photo companies. I take direction from these prompts β€”but in a way that misunderstands them or heightens the absurdity. Title is directly from a prompt.

This is a hand-painted screen-printed test print of my "Owl" painting from 2013. My friends and Burlesque in Minneapolis printed it in Mpls and then I hand-painted the details. The owl is striped with pale shades of yellows, blues, pinks, and greys on a flat black background. I hand-painted a large halo of a lacey crochet-like pattern in pink around the head. The 18x24" print has not been trimmed, so the register marks and color key thingies (whatever they're called) are still on the margins of the paper.

Temperate rainforest dreaming on such a winter’s day. 🌿

Green! Moss! Warmth! Weird art playtime!
Maybe just dreaming of escape in general.

Trying out a thrifted Olympus 35mm point and shoot camera on a winter trip to rural Iowa, along the Mississippi river.
Still works! A bit of light leak, a lot if these older cameras are getting leaky…

It’s the year of the Snake! 🐍
Revisiting some favorite snake images from Housebroken, a photography series of unusual pets in their homes. I photographed animals like Burmese pythons, turtles, chameleons, ferrets, rats, angora rabbits, and parrotlets. Lots of snakes, of course!

Sharing a recent project/show… Was thrilled to have work at RACA Gallery at the Poor Farm in Minnesota in November, run by @bfrink.bsky.social

β€œSpectral” is a playful exploration of landscapes and biomes, using the presence of bedsheet ghosts. (Photos are 3D anaglyph, looks cool with 3D glasses.)
