Anyway the point is that as an aspiring storyteller this shit honestly frightens me. Like no matter how clear the narrative is, if I don’t phrase something perfectly or write a character with conflicting motivations people are going to slander my characters as “liars” or “unrealistic” or whatever.

Which sucks because some of the chars I relate to the most get called shallow for the exact moments I relate to. And people go out of their way to make up bad faith arguments over the writing and why you’re media illiterate if you don’t agree. I just dunno what attracts these kinds of people.

There are critiques to be had about Hazbin & Helluva but I mostly see people getting into screaming fights explaining how the shows are awful and badly written… and most of it is just people misinterpreting characters or ignoring entire character elements?

On god kittens and cat meowing has a tendency to make me start sobbing. They’re just too innocent!!

As a Palworld fan some of these designs look taken directly from that game or combined with an actual Pokémon. Palworld is fun in part because it’s wearing its inspiration on its sleeve (and uses satire). This new thing looks like they didn’t understand the satire Palworld was going for.

I feel very lucky that I’m in a point in my life where I feel I’ve found people both online and in real life who treat me as a true equal, and want to see me succeed as I do with them. I would never have met any of those wonderful people though if I hadn’t left those who didn’t see me as an equal.

This kind of thing happened to me a lot back during my days on twitter. It felt like shit, especially when they were obviously ignoring me. Hell, I’ve had similar things happen in real life. Although it sucks, I’ve decided those people aren’t worth my time. Gotta find folks who appreciate you, yeah?

Doing character studies of my OC Rayva in a narrative illustration class. Today we were given color palettes to draw our character in. The one I got was pretty garish, with two magentas and that gross cigarette packaging color, but I think I did pretty well!
