My 3x great grandmother was Dorcas Vant. Written for a family history group meeting. #GenealogyStories #FamilyHistory sussexheritage.blogspot.com/2025/10/dorc...
I did this a long time ago partly because I often received posts in a different way on both devices and it took more time to look at but audio there was no temptation to spend more time on the phone. Just as I only hedge WhatsApp on my phone and laptop but not on my tablet. Way to go!!!
Phew, thought it was just me
Sussex FH have monthly zoom speakers. Their range of transcribed resources available online are extensive. I have no ancestors in Yorkshire but belong to Ryedale FHS because of their online meetings each week.. three!!! One has a teaching season, one help with dna & one general research/ social.
Thank you. A good thought. I have edited to blog.
It's been a while since I have written on my blogs but today I have been playing around with a suggested AI prompt that I used in Co-Pilot and was happy with the end result after a few revisions and addional information. #FamilyHistory #GenealogyStories

Mine is just a general website that is over 20 years old and I just add things to it. Not been on there recently as not been well. #OnePlaceStudy of Cuckfield in Sussex. Need to get back to it. cuckfieldcompendium.co.uk
and then there are places tht look like they should be pronounced the same but they aren't ...Cuckfield that is pronounced Cookfield and then Uckfield with a short u sound like in the word tuckbox!!! What about East Hoathly and West Hoathly one is pronounced Hoathlee and one Hoathlie
Mine doesn't end until the 8 October so going to miss the offer π
Enjoyed your talk and what you are including and how you are using Family Historian for it. app.weare.xyz/public/st-ma...
I must look out for overseers accounts for the Workhouse my 3x great grandfather was in (not my #OnePlacyStudy)
I woder if those are the fishermen's sheds on the beach at what is the old end of Hastings.
Evening #AncestryHour . Am afraid I can't be with you tonight as am at a zoom meeting/talk about #OnePlaceStudies
Looking forward to this talk.
Oooooo...proper posh π€£
I couldn't resist because I love a steak and kidney suet pudding
And I'll confuse things and say that there are also savoury puddings in the UK...as in steak and kidney pudding which is traditionally made with suet as the fat for the "pudding" bit and the steak and kidney in gravy is in the middle. Steamed in the same size bowl a sweet pudding dessert would be.
Evening!! I haven't been doing much family history as my IBS has been playing up badly.
Loving that my ancestral homes in Sussex and Renfrewshire are in the right place!!
oooooo......Sussex
A montage of four one-place study graphics, for Spaldington OPS (image: a white-walled, two-storey cottage with a small front garden), Embsay-with-Eastby OPS (image: a black and white 'finger post' sign with a large tree and a two-storey, stone-built cottage in the background), Heckmondwike Grammar School OPS (image: a large, three-storey, stone-built school building), and St Stephen's Churchyard, Acomb OPS (image: a churchyard, with many gravestones). One-Place Studies, where family history and local history unite.

So much to learn to make it work for me rather than just expect it to find my ancestors and info about them when it will use third party family trees which may have dubious integrity.
I could ask AI similarly for contextual info for occupations of my ancestors in that place and that time. #GenealogyStories #Genealogy ....../π§΅
I now need to try all the questions and save them for my story telling of ancestors living there during the time period. ....../ π§΅
I learned to tell it the place I was interested in and the time period and then asked it to give me some useful questions to ask it about that. Co-Pilot gave me some great questions which I have saved. I tried one as a trial and answer was very comprehensive. ..../π§΅
Evening Andrew. Not done a lot of research other than newspaper at the minute. Now gone down the rabbit hole of useful prompts for AI so I can write my genealogy from information I give it. #GenHour
I don't have Pro Tools as my enthusiasm for DNA has waned a bit. I might buy a month once they have improved it by widening the number of cm they will put in the clusters.
Well done, Julie.

I have a browser page open and search for #GenHour and when it gives the results I click the Latest tab to read posts. I have another page open for reading notifications and writing replies from there. Then all I need to do on the first page is occasionally refresh it and click the latest tab again
