Digital platforms and polarization, environmental crises and media trust, smartphones and mental health: We argue that research in media psych addresses some of the most pressing societal issues and can give answers in complicated times like these and we see the journal as a scholarly forum for this
3οΈβ£ We aim to situate the journal as a leader in debates on the role of media in human behavior and society β including work on new and newsworthy media but also more general theoretical approaches that will outlast the current media Zeitgeist.
2οΈβ£ We strive for more inclusivity in terms of research and author teams from diverse global regions and traditionally underrepresented institutions.
1οΈβ£ We continue to prioritize a strong theory orientation and transparency in empirical research (e.g., with pre-registered reports).
