Q-score as a reliability measure for atomic coordinate models

Q-scores are calculated for atomic models derived from 3D electron microscopy maps, measure how well the model fits the map and reflect the quality of the map itself.

Question for the #cryoEM crowd: have you played with ModelAngelo, CryoAtom and EMProt, and would you care to offer thoughts/notes on the comparison? I have ModelAngelo installed and I love it, but the other two claim improved performance - which should I try first?

Deep-learning methods for contrast enhancement and artifact reduction in cryo-electron tomography: a systematic analysis of the state of the art and proposed improvements Cryo-ET is a rapidly emerging technique that enables 3D visualization of complex biological structures, but present limits on signal-to-noise ratio and reconstruction quality pose challenges for downstream analysis. Here, we present a systematic analysis of state-of-the-art deep-learning methods for contrast enhancement and propose improvements in neural network architectures and training objectives to preserve more high-resolution information.

The amyloid packing difference (APD) is a new metric to compare amyloid structures. Analysis of disease-specific structures provides context for the interpretation of APDs for new comparisons. I hope it will be useful! 🤗

By 2028, all 4-character PDB IDs will be exhausted.

After that, all new entries will receive extended IDs: 12 characters total, formatted as pdb_ + 8 alphanumeric characters (pdb_1000axyz)
