so after using this older laptop for a couple weeks i decided "fuck it" and swapped my main machine to linux mint, and installed a windows 11 virtual machine in the event i need it.

ST5 volume 2 was insanely boring and reaffirms my belief that the duffers either:

A) didn't know what to do with the series after Season 2
B) got screwed when they were forced to turn the original plan for S4 into seasons 4&5.
